The Efficient Appliances Program promotes the adoption of more efficient appliances amongst the residents of Ras Al Khaimah.
Minimum energy efficiency standards, as well as efficiency labelling schemes, have been implemented in UAE by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) for major energy and water consuming equipment, such as cooling, lighting, large household appliances, and water heaters. These standards are expected to be periodically updated to more stringent levels, while new standards and labelling schemes for additional appliances and equipment, such as water fixtures and electronic equipment are in the works.
