Ras Al Khaimah is undergoing a phase of significant development. Inspired by the vision of our leaders and in line with the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, National Agenda 2021 and the Green Growth Strategy, the government of Ras Al Khaimah initiated a more structured approach to energy efficiency and sustainability.

Ras Al Khaimah Energy Efficiency and Renewables Strategy 2040 (EE&R Strategy) will lead  evolution of the economy towards lower energy intensity and a higher share of renewable energy in the supply mix, thus making Ras Al Khaimah more competitive across all sectors, and ready for the future decades of development.

From an institutional standpoint, in 2017, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality created a dedicated office (Reem) to drive, monitor and report on the implementation of the EE&R Strategy. A committee was established to guide and support Reem, comprising the most important government entities participating in the EE&R Strategy.

I would like to express my appreciation for the valuable support offered by our stakeholder entities. To our committee, to Reem and to all implementing entities my wish and recommendation is: make a difference and be practical.
