The Water Reuse & Efficient Irrigation Program aims at reducing TSE wastage and enabling the expansion of public landscape areas by encouraging industrial and commercial applications of TSE in place of desalinated water, and reducing the water intensity of irrigation through efficient landscaping and irrigation practices.
The objectives of this program are to retrofit all existing public landscapes with efficient landscaping and irrigation technologies, and to ensure that all new public landscapes developed from 2019 onwards, follow efficient landscaping and irrigation practices. The program also supports the RAK Vision 2030 objective of 95% reuse of TSE, and targets 100% reuse of TSE by 2040.
