Studies estimate a long-term potential of over 600 MWp of rooftop solar. Actual deployment will depend on market conditions and favourability of federal regulation for connection of renewable energy to EtihadWE’s grid.
New buildings are being addressed through mandates for solar readiness within Barjeel. The issuance of federal regulation for distributed renewables in 2025 has already activated the market, with further updates expected to accelerate growth. Ras Al Khaimah Municipality will also introduce supporting measures to boost market development and awareness
Other renewable technologies will be assessed for future deployment where applicable.
