This program aims to build capabilities to monitor and control groundwater and surface freshwater pollution.
The environmental strategy exercise expected to start in 2024 (that would include a freshwater/groundwater strategy), should include analysis of the quality and quantity (status) and trends of groundwater in RAK and define management and regulatory tools required to ensure long-term sustainability of groundwater. Following completion of this exercise, EPDA may develop and implement fit-for-purpose regulations and enforce consistently to reduce groundwater pollution in Ras Al Khaimah.
