Overview
The Transport Decarbonisation programme of RIS Strategy aims to promote low-carbon transportation through electrification, fuel switching and supportive infrastructure to improve the energy efficiency of the transportation sector in Ras Al Khaimah.
A network of over 100 public electric vehicle charging stations has been deployed across key locations in Ras Al Khaimah as part of this programme, while incentives for electric vehicle insurance has been set-up to support purchase.

The government has committed to leading by example in the adoption of efficient vehicles in its fleet, with the issuance of Resolution No. 34 of 2018 by H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi,UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Targets
The programme targets EV and hybrid vehicle sales to reach 50% of the total vehicle sales in Ras Al Khaimah by 2040.
