This programme aims to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and communities in Ras Al Khaimah and make them future-ready through a set of targeted initiatives for new and existing buildings, equipment, and communities.
It addresses residential, commercial and hospitality buildings through a combination of measures:
Development and enforcement of building codes (mainly Barjeel), rating system, material standards and community design guidelines for new buildings and communities
Retrofit mandates and project support by Reem, for existing non-residential buildings
Implementation of equipment standards by Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and green procurement standards and guidelines by Reem
Equipment replacement initiatives led by Reem
The programme will explore mandates and incentives including those linked to land transactions to accelerate adoption and impact.
